What is EVA?
EVA is a thermosetting adhesive film placed in the middle of laminated glass. EVA has many advantages such as high transparency, high temperature resistance, moisture resistance, and easy to storage. Therefore, it is widely used in current components and various optical products. EVA films can be made into various specifications such as transparent, semitransparent, or colored. For different usage conditions, special models with low and high temperature resistance can also be provided.
EVA (Polyethylene vinyl acetate)is a thermoset adhesive film placed in the middle of 2 glass sheets, forming a kind of laminated glass. EVA interlayer has many advantages such as high transparency, high temperature resistance, moisture resistance, and easy to storage. When laminating EVA with the glass, the process is much simpler than that of PVB lamination with much less capital investment.
Therefore, it is widely used not only in architectural laminated glass for the building, for both indoor and outdoor applications but also in photovoltaic solar module as an ideal plastic film to encapsulate the silicon cells while ensuring a good adhesion with the glass and/or plastic PET sheets.
In function of requirements and application conditions, EVA can be made into various colors, such as clear, opaque, black, grey, green, blue, red, etc. with a variable light transmission. It can be also made into solar absorbing film which blocks the IR transmission by 90-95% while keeping a good visible light transmittance over 70%.
Quantum, expert in glass interlayers, distributes various EVA films meeting different requirements from end customers. For more information, please contact our sales& marketing team at marketing@quantumatec.com.
